Droupadi Murmu, will preside over the ‘MSME Day 2025 – Udyami Bharat’ event at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of key dignitaries and stakeholders of India’s micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) ecosystem. Celebrating the Backbone of India’s Economy

MSME Day serves as an annual opportunity to reaffirm the government’s commitment to empowering India’s 6.3 crore+ MSMEs, which form the backbone of employment generation, innovation, and self-reliance. This year’s Udyami Bharat theme focuses on making the sector more resilient, competitive, and future-ready through the launch of key initiatives and platforms.

President Murmu will release a commemorative postage stamp to mark the 25th anniversary of the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE). Since its inception, CGTMSE has played a vital role in enabling access to collateral-free credit for MSEs.

  • Over 1.18 crore credit guarantees have been approved
  • Cumulative credit supported: ₹9.80 lakh crore
  • In FY 2024-25 alone, a record-breaking ₹3 lakh crore worth of credit guarantees were extended.

This recognition underscores CGTMSE’s mission to remove credit barriers for micro and small businesses across the country.

In a landmark step towards ease of doing business and timely access to justice, the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) Portal developed by the Ministry of MSME will be unveiled by the Hon’ble President. The ODR platform provides:

  • End-to-end digital resolution for payment disputes
  • Accessibility from any location
  • Speedy, affordable adjudication of commercial conflicts
  • Relief for MSEs from working capital blockage and delayed receivables

The ODR system is expected to significantly improve the business environment and foster trust across value chains.

President Murmu will also inaugurate MSME Hackathon 5.0 under the MSME Champions Scheme and declare the winners of Hackathon 4.0. These innovation-driven hackathons play a pivotal role in:

  • Promoting technology-driven entrepreneurship
  • Supporting incubation through Host Institutes (HIs)
  • Offering up to ₹15 lakh per idea for innovative solutions across sectors
  • Driving India’s Atma Nirbhar Bharat innovation mission

The program continues to serve as a launchpad for young innovators and MSMEs ready to lead in digital, green, and industrial advancements.

The event will also see the release of two key knowledge and capacity-building publications:

  • ‘MSME Patrika’: An in-house journal offering sector insights, case studies, and policy updates to foster informed entrepreneurship and peer learning among MSMEs.
  • ‘Know Your Lender’: A practical guide to help MSMEs navigate credit landscapes, understand lending norms, and exercise their rights in securing finance.

Both publications reflect the Ministry’s focus on financial literacy, empowerment, and informed decision-making.

Towards a Future-Ready MSME Ecosystem

MSME Day 2025 goes beyond a ceremonial occasion — it is a powerful call to action. The Government of India is driving a transformative shift toward a digitally enabled, innovation-focused, and credit-inclusive MSME ecosystem. With initiatives like CGTMSE, the ODR Portal, national hackathons, and informative resources, the Ministry is cultivating a landscape where MSMEs grow with dignity, equity, and opportunity.

As India marches toward its Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, strengthening MSMEs — the heartbeat of job creation and local entrepreneurship — remains a national priority. The presence of the Hon’ble President at this event reinforces that commitment at the highest level.
