Meanwhile, Venice, Charlotte Harbor, Fort Myers and Sarasota reported a massive storm surge. Governor Ron DeSantis on Wednesday said that the hurricane 'is currently in the process of making landfall' as a Category 3 hurricane in Sarasota County.
