Massive Train Crash In Wales Prompts Emergency Response Near Llanbrynmair

Two trains collided in Wales on Monday. The incident took place between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth in Mid Wales at about 7:30 PM local time. Emergency units were on the scene. The Transport for Wales announced that the collision has led to the cancellation of all services between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth. "Emergency services are responding to an incident near Llanbrynmair in Powys, Mid Wales, involving two trains – the 18.31 Transport for Wales service from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth and the 19.09 Transport for Wales service from Macyhnlleth to Shrewsbury," the Transport for Wales said in a statement. "The line is closed as they carry out their work. Our main priority is the safety of our passengers and colleagues, and we are doing all we can to support the emergency services as they respond to the incident. We would encourage passengers to plan ahead and check journeys before travelling via National Rail Enquiries.”British Transport Police spokesperson also provided details, saying, "Officers were called to the line near Llanbrynmair at 7.29pm today (21 October) to reports of a low-speed train collision involving two trains. Paramedics, fire and rescue, and Dyfed Powys Police are all in attendance and the incident is ongoing."As of now it is unknown if anyone has sustained any serious injuries in the collision.Eluned Morgan, First Minister for Wales, issued a statement, saying, "My thoughts are with all those involved in the rail incident in Powys earlier this evening.
