Prayagraj: Many students from the economically weaker sections of the state, preparing for competitive examinations, often have to travel to other districts and states to receive coaching. Among these students, there are many who cannot afford expenses of coaching fees and staying away from home.

For such students, the Chief Minister's Abhyudaya Yojana, initiated by the Yogi govt of UP, is proving to be helpful. The inclination of students towards this scheme has increased in Prayagraj. This scheme by the Yogi govt is providing free coaching facilities to economically weaker students in Prayagraj, which is considered one of main hubs for competitive exams.

According to district social welfare officer, Pragya Pandey, 306 students were registered in the batch of Abhyudaya coaching started in the city. Of these 306 students, 190 for UPSC and 130 for NEET/JEE took regular classes conducted by experts. The selection of students has also been good this year. Course Coordinator Hridayananda informed that last year, 12 students were selected from here. The selected students include four for revenue accountant, two for JEE Advanced, two for UPPCS pre-exam, two in Bihar PCS PT exam, one student in Bihar teacher recruitment, and one student in the accountants department.

Among these 306 students who benefited from the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya scheme is Siddharth Tiwari, the son of a farmer from Kohdar Ghat in Prayagraj. As the financial condition of his house was not good, he had to work in a company in Delhi.

He enrolled in free classes run by the govt in Abhyudaya coaching, and in the second attempt, he scored 99 percentile in the JEE Advanced exam and got B.Tech in Computer Science from MNNIT, Prayagraj. Likewise, Sanchit Raj Gupta, a resident of George Town, Prayagraj, was also not in a good financial condition as his father worked in a small media institute. Sanchit also took free help from the experts of the scheme and got selected in JEE Advanced in the first attempt. Gupta is pursuing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering at KNIT Sultanpur.

Under this scheme, four children have also been selected in the Provincial Administrative Pre Examination this year.
