Police intensify security at Prayagraj Junction

Prayagraj: In light of tension between India and Pakistan, Prayagraj police intensified security measures in and around the Prayagraj Junction railway station. Along with this, both the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) launched a comprehensive checking operation across multiple locations at the Junction on Saturday.

The operation by the district police focused primarily on hotels, lodges, and vehicles in the vicinity of Prayagraj Junction. Police teams conducted thorough inquiries into the background and duration of stay of guests, particularly looking for individuals who were residing in the area for an extended period.

The aim was to detect any suspicious activity or unauthorised presence amid the rising concerns over national security.Sniffer dogs were deployed to assist in room-to-room inspections in various hostels and accommodations situated on the city side of the junction. These checks were designed to ensure that no explosive materials or illegal substances were being stored or transported in the region.

Simultaneously, the RPF and GRP carried out a joint security sweep at the railway station premises, including platforms, waiting areas, railway tracks, parcel office, and many trains. Led by Inspector RPF SK Singh, these checks were part of a broader strategy to tighten surveillance. According to Inspector RPF SK Singh, "Given the current scenario in the country, we are leaving no stone unturned in our security preparations. Our goal is to ensure the safety of all passengers using Prayagraj Junction." Authorities have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity. With proactive measures in place, the Prayagraj police aim to maintain peace and prevent any disruption in the city's daily life.
