Mysuru: A day after a warder attached to Mysuru Central Prison was suspended on charges of mocking chief minister Siddaramaiah, he was arrested by Mysuru district police on Tuesday.
Madhukumar HN, an ex-serviceman working at the central prison as a warder, made a six-minute video wherein he allegedly mocked CM Siddaramaiah, who was spotted nearly slapping an ASP during a public event in Belagavi. He questioned the morality of the CM for allegedly disrespecting a police officer and criticised him for his behaviour against a govt servant. He also said, being an admirer of Siddaramaiah, he felt bad about the incident.
N Vishnuvardhana, superintendent of police, told TOI that the warder was arrested by Bettadapura police on charges of promoting enmity between groups and issuing threats.
Chief superintendent of prisons, Mysuru Central Prison, PS Ramesh, said Madhukumar has been working as a warder at the prison for the last four years. It came to our notice about the video he allegedly made on Monday. Immediately, it was examined, and he was placed under suspension pending a departmental inquiry, Ramesh said.
The video was made a week ago, but it went viral on social media on Monday. Madhukumar was a native of Bettadapura in Periyapatna taluk in Mysuru district but stayed in Vijayanagar in Mysuru city.
