BENGALURU: Infosys filed a writ petition before the Karnataka high court challenging the legitimacy of the show cause notice issued by the Directorate General of GST Intelligence ( DGGI ) for Rs 415 crore over alleged ineligible input tax credit (ITC) refunds.
In May, DGGI sought details regarding the company's GST refund claims. Infosys provided all relevant information and held discussions with DGGI officials on the matter. In July, DGGI issued a pre-show cause notice.
The company requested additional information and more time to submit its detailed response. Without granting the requested extension, DGGI issued a show cause notice on August 12, amounting to Rs 414.8 crore, excluding interest and penalties.
