International No Diet Day is an annual celebration that promotes body positivity and rejects diet culture. It is observed in a number of countries worldwide. In an exclusive chat, Abhishek Malik also shares his views on celebrating the occasion.

Abhishek Malik, who essays the role of Neel in Jamai No. 1 said, “International No Diet Day is a beautiful reminder that fitness and food can coexist with joy. I’ve always believed in eating clean, training hard, but also treating myself without guilt. Some days, nothing makes me happier than a big plate of chole kulche and a glass of lassi straight from a dhaba — it instantly takes me back to carefree times with friends and family. Food is not just fuel — it’s emotion, nostalgia, and comfort. One habit I swear by is that I never attach guilt to food. I enjoy it fully, mindfully, and then get back to balance — no stress, no overthinking. Over the years, I’ve realised that a strong body is important, but a peaceful mind is even more crucial. On this International No Diet Day, let’s give our bodies a break and celebrate food, freedom, and feeling good — because life is too short to say no to your favourite dish every time.”

Earlier, Abhishek had added a new feather to his hat by donning the joker look for the show, he shared, “I’ve always been fascinated by the Joker, there’s something unpredictable and intense about him that really sticks with you. I remember watching the movie Joker and being impressed by Joaquin Phoenix’s performance. So when I found out that I’d be wearing a Joker mask for a sequence, I was thrilled. Of course, this wasn’t the full makeup look like in the film — I had the mask version. But honestly, once the shot was done, I couldn’t help myself. I started sneaking up on people with the mask — first my co-stars, then the background artists, and even some of the crew members. And the funniest part, even when they knew it was me, they still got scared! I must’ve worn that mask ten times that day just to catch them off guard. It turned into a fun little prank spree. Moments like these really make the long shoot days more enjoyable — they keep the energy up and bring us all closer as a team.”
