Shannon Sharpe has been dealing with a $50 million lawsuit when a young woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. But it seems like things are only getting worse for the NFL legend as now there is news of how the NFL legend had previously gotten involved in another sexual assault case even though he was not sued for it but for defamation. The case is eerily similar to the one that has been filed by the young woman who uses the pseudonym Jane Doe, a few days ago.
Shannon Sharpe was previously sued by a former girlfriend in 2023
As per People and The U.S. Sun, a former girlfriend of Shannon Sharpe, Michele Evans, had filed a suit against the NFL legend in 2023, where she accused him of defamation, libel, and slander. But the lawsuit also detailed that Shannon Sharpe sexually assaulted her when she was trying to end things with him in 2010.
As per Michele Evans, Shannon Sharpe and she were in a decade long relationship that came to an end in 2010 as she accused him of cheating on her. As Michele Evans tried to end things with Shannon Sharpe, he requested to have s*x with her. When Michele Evans denied this request, she claimed the NFL legend sexually assaulted her.
As per People and The U.S. Sun, the lawsuit filed by Michele Evans stated that, “The Defendant proceeded to forcefully subdue me, compelling me to my knees and subsequently engaging in non-consensual oral penetration. Despite my protests, he persisted in this violation.”
Michele Evans’ further stated in the court documents that, “Thereafter, Shannon's coercion escalated as he maneuvered me onto the bed and achieved non-consensual vaginal penetration, all the while proclaiming his intent to ‘Make it so no other man would want me.”
Michele Evans has also accused Shannon Sharpe of attempting to “threaten” her, so she filed a restraining order against him, but she later took that back as she was scared.
In a statement to The U.S. Sun and Page Six, Shannon Sharpe’s representative has strongly denied Michele Evans’ claims. The representative said, “Michele Evans’ claims are ridiculous and completely without merit.”
Shannon Sharpe admitted that he was in a relationship with Jane Doe but it was “consensual”
At this point in time, Shannon Sharpe and his team of attorneys have also denied the claims of Jane Doe, who has accused the NFL legend of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions.
Shannon Sharpe has taken a step back from his role at ESPN and has issued a statement where he has admitted that he was in a relationship with Jane Doe but it was “100% consensual”.
Jane Doe has revealed that the two had met at a gym when she was pretty young in 2023. Fans remain divided on this issue as many have trolled Shannon Sharpe for getting involved with women who are younger than his children.
