Roxanne Perez successfully defended her NXT Women's Championship against Giulia during the debut episode of " WWE NXT " on The CW, with a surprise assist from the returning Cora Jade . Jade, who had been sidelined since January due to a torn ACL, made her return during the show's opening match. She intervened by delivering a DDT to Giulia on the outside of the ring, aiding Perez in securing the win.
The match kicked off with Perez and Giulia locking up, trading quick pinfall attempts. Giulia took control, forcing Perez into the ropes before Perez countered by sending her out of the ring and following up with a dive. Back inside, Perez ascended to the top rope, but Giulia responded with a suplex, holding on with a bridge, though Perez kicked out. The back-and-forth action continued as Perez applied a crossface, only for Giulia to reach the ropes.
Giulia then countered a Pop Rox attempt with a knee, but Perez managed to kick out again. Perez landed her finisher, but Giulia rolled beneath the ropes. The two women continued their fight outside the ring, eventually being knocked down. The referee reached a count of nine before both competitors made it back inside.
Perez slid out of the ring once more and grabbed her championship. While the referee was distracted, Jade, disguised in a hoodie, attacked Giulia and threw her back into the ring. Perez then hit a second Pop Rox for the pinfall victory, after which Jade revealed her identity to the champion.

Cora Jade Shares Encouraging Message After Her Surgery Earlier This Year
Cora Jade is considered one of the rising stars in NXT's women’s division, having been part of several key storylines over the past few years, especially with her former best friend Roxanne Perez. Despite this, Jade was off TV for much of 2023. She returned to NXT during NXT Deadline, and it appeared she was on the brink of a major push. Unfortunately, her progress was cut short.
Jade suffered an injury during a match against Lyra Valkyria at a WWE Live Event on January 12. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter later confirmed that Jade had torn her ACL, which could sideline her for 8-9 months.
After her surgery on January 23rd, Jade took to social media to share an inspiring message with her fans: “They say that your darkest hour comes before your dawn. TTYL,” wrote Cora Jade. Her positive outlook gave fans hope, and they eagerly awaited her return to the ring, which is now set to happen very soon.
