ANAKAPALLI: Chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced that all roads under the Roads and Buildings Department in the state will be made pothole-free by the upcoming Sankranti festival . He instructed officials to ensure that visitors from other regions are proud of the roads in our state.
The chief minister launched the pothole-free roads programme in the state, undertaken with 860 crores under the Roads and Buildings Department, in Parawada, Anakapalli district on Saturday. He unveiled the plaque for road repair works at Vennelapalem Junction and personally operated the machinery to commence road repair works.
During the event, the chief minister outlined the future action plan of the coalition govt for the provision of roads and infrastructure in the state. He stated that drones would be deployed to inspect roads for potholes during Sankranti. He emphasized that contractors who do not complete road works on time will not be spared. The chief minister pointed out that neglecting roads over the past five years turned them into paths to hell and assigned the responsibility of transforming them into pothole-free roads within two months to the Roads and Buildings Department. He mentioned that roads are a symbol of civilization and that good roads are essential for industries and development.

He mentioned that national highway projects worth 76,000 crores are currently underway in the state, with a target to complete them within two and a half years. Additionally, another 50,000 crores will be spent on developing roads like Bhogapuram-Moolapeta, Amaravati Outer Ring Road, and Vijayawada East Bypass. He revealed plans for national highway construction worth a total of 1.25 lakh crores over the next five years.

He mentioned plans for a four-lane rail route between Kolkata and Chennai, which will save travel time and facilitate easier transportation of goods. The Central Govt recently approved 2,500 crores for constructing a rail route to Amaravati.

He announced the establishment of an industrial park in every assembly constituency to provide more employment opportunities for the youth. He mentioned efforts to set up small businesses and industries based on available resources in each village.
The chief minister announced plans to complete the Polavaram project in the next two years and provide water to the Anakapalli district through the left canal. He stated that by supplying Polavaram water, Anakapalli would be transformed into a drought-free and poverty-free district.
