Just days ahead of the Haryana assembly polls , Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a searing attack against the Congress, alleging that the grand old party is the "mother of corruption in India".

Addressing a rally in Sonipat, the PM said that Haryana was looted by the Congress, adding that the party handed over the state to 'dalals' (middlemen) and 'damads' (son-in-laws).

The PM also attacked the Congress for "conspiring" against Dalits and termed the party as " anti-Dalits ".

"Congress has cheated the Dalits and people who belong to backward castes. There is infighting in Congress, this is a result of old sins. Before 2014 when Congress was in power and Hooda was the Chief Minister, there was not a single year when injustice was not done to Dalits....Whoever speaks against these anti-dalit actions, Congress starts conspiring against them. The Dalits in Haryana are watching the drama that is going on in the Haryana Congress...It is the DNA of Congress to oppose reservation...Even the fourth generation of Congress's 'shahiparivar' is talking of removing reservation," said the PM

Alleging that the Congress is the "mother of corruption in India", PM Modi said: "Congress ka shahiparivar desh ka sabse bhrasht parivar hai'. When the high command is corrupt then everyone gets the license to do corruption and loot ... Haryana was looted by the Congress government 10 years ago. The lands of farmers were looted."
