NEW DELHI: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday made her electoral debut by filing her nomination papers for the upcoming Lok Sabha bypoll in Wayanad.
Priyanka was joined by her mother, Sonia Gandhi , the Congress Parliamentary party chairperson, Rahul Gandhi , the leader of opposition, and Mallikarjun Kharge, the party chief.
In the by-election, Priyanka is contesting against Sathyan Mokeri from the LDF and Navya Haridas from the BJP. The Wayanad Lok Sabha seat became vacant after Rahul Gandhi, who had won from both Wayanad and Rae Bareli constituencies in the Lok Sabha polls, decided to relinquish the Wayanad seat.
