Trump calls Kamala Harris incompetent after '60 Minutes' interview. CBS reveals why Trump backed out

Major party candidates always sit down with CBS's 60 Minutes ahead of the election for more than half a century. While Kamala Harris gave her interview, 60 Minutes revealed the details of what went wrong with Donald Trump , though the Republican presidential candidate initially agreed to sit down with 60 Minutes. CBS said the first disagreement was over the show's 'fact-checking' policies.

CBS said the network agreed to interview Trump last Thursday at Mar-a-Lago and also to meet him in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday. On September 9, Trump's communications director Steven Cheung sent a text to CBS confirming that he was working on it. “I’m working with our advance team to see logistically if Butler would work in addition to the sit down," his text read.

A day later, Cheung informed that "the president said yes".

Then a week before the interview, Trump backed out with his campaign complaining that the interview would be fact-checked. "Trump also demanded an apology from CBS correspondent Leslie Stahl, claiming she said something that she didn’t say during their 2020 interview, which he walked out of," Daily Beast reported.

Trump said it was the worst interview as Kamala Harris had no idea what she was talking about. "...and it was an embarrassment to our Country that a Major Party Candidate would be so completely inept. In addition, her Incompetence on “helping” people through the devastation of Hurricane Helene is being reviewed as, by far, the Worst in American History, even worse than Katrina - If that is possible! I can’t imagine anybody living in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, or Tennessee, voting for her," Trump posted on Truth Social.

"Pollsters are saying that the anti, or negative, Vote in those places, and even places not affected but with people watching what took place, will be heavily against her. This is good news because November 5th is the Most Important Day in the History of our Country, and we cannot bear four more years of Incompetence. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" Trump wrote.
