Ivanka Trump will not be returning to the White House when her father, Donald Trump, takes office again in January 2025, though she intends to support him indirectly. While she previously held a formal advisory position during her father’s first administration, focusing on issues such as child safety and human trafficking, Ivanka has now chosen to remain out of a formal role.
Instead, she plans to use her influence to engage with tech leaders and advocate for online safety and other related causes, advancing her father's goals without an official title. Before the election, her husband, Jared Kushner, shared with The New York Times that they were doing everything they could to support Donald Trump’s campaign, but now, having experienced the intense public scrutiny of Washington life, they intend to protect their family by staying out of the spotlight.
During her first stint in the White House, Ivanka played an active role, meeting with foreign dignitaries, supporting workforce development initiatives, and advocating for issues like paid family leave. However, the toll on personal relationships and the strain of public life have made her cautious about re-entering the political arena.
While Ivanka still maintains connections with public figures such as Kim Kardashian, many former celebrity friends from her Manhattan days have distanced themselves. To avoid similar strain this time, Ivanka reportedly plans to stay behind the scenes, leveraging her influence quietly. She is proud of her father and wishes to support his agenda, but feels she can do so without taking on the responsibilities of a White House role.
