EasyJet Bristol Airport chaos as check-in issues cause huge passenger delays

Send Push

Passengers were left waiting "like zombies" after a technical issue with EasyJet self-service machines sparked "90 minute" delays.

Bristol Airport was plagued by the issues at the EasyJet kiosks for self-check in. The issues prompted queues in the check-in area after all passengers then had to be manually checked in by staff.

The issue appears to only have affected passengers travelling with EasyJet. A Bristol Airport spokesperson said on Thursday that the issue was being investigated.

One passenger said they were left waiting "like zombies" at 3am. Hitting out at the airport on X, formerly Twitter, they said: "@BristolAirport would you please do the hundreds of us currently waiting like zombies at 3am in baggage reclaim next to stationary belts the simple courtesy of telling us what’s happening. Just basic-level communication would be really welcomed, not to mention polite."

Another passenger said they had been waiting "90 minutes" since their flight had landed to see their luggage.

A spokesperson for the airline said in a statement: "Reports of disruption to EasyJet passengers at Bristol Airport due to technical issue with the self check in kiosks. Passengers are being checked in manually and this will lead to queues in the terminal.

"Live flight data shows that a few departing EasyJet flights are delayed but most are scheduled to fly on time. No other airlines are affected." EasyJet has been contacted for comment.
